Third: 【 International title 】
Issuing Authority: World Chess Federation (FIDE)
International Grand Master (highest) : GM (Grand Master)
International Master: IM (International Master)
FIDE Master (minimum) : FM(FIDE Master)
One of the following conditions can qualify for the Grandmaster title:
① Any player participating in a World Championship Challenger match;
(2) An international master or a master of the Chess Federation who has obtained the result of a grandmaster twice or more times in a match with a total number of not less than 24 games, with an international rating of at least 2450.

The first place in the following competitions: World Women's Championship, Regional Championship, World Youth Championship, European Youth Championship, American Youth Championship, African Youth Championship
One of the following conditions can obtain the title of Chess master:
(1) In the total number of games of not less than 24 games, two or more times to obtain the results of the chess federation master, the international rating of at least 2250;
2nd place in the Junior High School (under 17 years old) World Championship;
The number of games played in a cycle of the World Championship is not less than 13 games, and the result of 1 chess master.
Note: There are very few competitions in China that can obtain these titles, and in fact, they can not be obtained by participating in a competition, and generally require several "sequence points". These three titles can be added in front of the word "women", but the gold content is certainly not as good as not adding, that is, the level of "female international grandmaster" is generally lower than that of "international grandmaster". In order to distinguish from the "female international grandmaster", sometimes the "man" is added before the "international grandmaster", in fact, it is the same thing to add. Women's level is very high, can also obtain the title of "(men) international Grandmaster", such as China's Xie Jun, Hou Yifan, Ju Wenjun, Zhao Xue and so on.
The fourth: 【 Chess rank 】
Grading bodies: Countries and FIDE
The above three levels are lifelong (you can get a master at the age of 8, and you can still be a master at the age of 80), but the rating is floating, and the rating is an important indicator of the current level of strength of the chess player.
In chess, rank and league titles roughly correspond to:
More than 2500 points: International Grandmaster
Scores 2400-2499: International Masters
2300-2399 points: Master of Chess
The international rating is also known as "FIDE rating" or "Ello score".
It was designed by Hungarian-born American professor Elo (1903-1992), developed by the FIDE Hierarchy Committee, adopted by the FIDE General Assembly in 1969, and officially implemented in 1970. It has been calculated and published twice by the organization since 1979. There were only 2,025 players on the list when it was first published, but it has now grown to 180,000. When it was first announced, the starting point for men and women was 2,200 points and 2,000 points respectively, but since January 1993, the starting point has been changed to both men and women, and the published starting point is 2005 points.
The chess rank is not necessarily related to the title, but the rank is derived from a certain scientific calculation based on the results of the game, and as the number of games becomes more and more accurate, it reflects the true level of a person. The title is a title that is declared by participating in some competitions according to the regulations according to the ranking obtained.
The calculation of rank points was later introduced into the domestic game of Weiqi and chess, but the influence was far less than that of chess.
Today's highest level of men is generally more than 2750 first-class, very few in the peak state of more than 2800 (such as Carlson, Ding Liren, etc.), most international grandmasters more than 2500 points. Professional chess players can at least reach more than 2200, amateur strong players can reach about 2000 points, and general enthusiasts range from 1700 to 1900.
Calculation method:
International grading is the basis for title regulations and many major competition regulations. Its theoretical basis is the normal probability function in statistical probability theory, and the conversion relationship is listed in a table. The calculation principle is as follows: Where you can calculate the rating of the game, according to the difference between my rating and the opponent's rating from the probability function table to find the expected score rate, and then calculate the expected score (Swiss system and the cycle system algorithm is different), and finally the difference between the actual score and the expected score multiplied by the conversion factor (according to different situations are divided into 10, 15, 25 three), the positive value is up, the negative value is down. The rise and fall values are accumulated during each statistical period to determine the next published new ranking for each player.
The ratings and rankings of registered players are available on the FIDE website, updated monthly: http://www.fide.com
Note: Europe and the United States and other developed countries do not use chess players and player grades, but use grade scores to measure the current strength level of chess players. Ranking has not been well implemented in China for the time being, but some clubs, such as Chengdu Chaoyue and Changsha Xiaobing, are trying to use ranking to evaluate the level of chess players.
